UPDATE: Man arrested in Glasgow after pipe bomb found in home

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department has released further details surrounding an arrest after the discovery of a homemade pipe bomb.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday night, GPD, along with the Kentucky State Police and ATF, had responded to Redwood Street in Glasgow for a suspicious object inside of a home. The FBI also provided assistance.

Glasgow police say the device was found inside a closet. As a result, police say they evacuated the nearby area and the KSP Bomb Detection Unit assisted.

GPD major Terry Flatt said the device was a homemade pipe bomb.

GPD says it was safely removed from the home, and two handguns were located inside a vehicle along with another two handguns inside the home.

Jeffery O. Neal, 48, of Park City was arrested following the incident. He is charged with third-degree use of a weapon of mass destruction.

He remains in the Barren County Detention Center under a $50,000 cash bond.
