Emmerdale boss confirms surprise split for Ethan Anderson and Marcus Dean

Emmerdale has confirmed a surprise split coming up for Ethan Anderson and Marcus Dean on the soap.

The couple have been trying to enjoy their relationship recently, though things have taken a troubling turn as they've tried to pursue a complaint against Ethan's predatory boss Greg.

While the circumstances around their upcoming split remain unknown at present, show executive producer Jane Hudson has teased that the two will go through "quite a journey" in upcoming scenes.

"We've got our Anderson family – Charles, Ethan, Naomi and of course Manpreet, who's with Charles. They've finally got their own home – Charles and Manpreet – which is fantastic," she explained.

"We are going to see Ethan go through quite a journey with Marcus on screen, which will result in Ethan being young, free and single – and where will that lead us to?

"There is a lot in store for the Andersons this year.

"There is a lot going to be happening for Charles in particular, but I'm not going to tell you what that is at the moment – you're going to have to keep watching, because it's happening a bit further in the year."

Elsewhere on Emmerdale, the soap has teased shock spoilers for Paddy, Samson, Noah, and Charity Dingle, including Paddy ending up in bed together with ex-wife Mandy.

The show has also promised that "blackmail threats, cruel deception, and forbidden, secret liaisons are about to send shockwaves through the Emmerdale village", with "serious consequences" for some residents.
