Matt Hancock has revealed how much he was paid to take part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

The former Health Secretary appeared on the recent season of the ITV reality show and, despite being the most controversial contestant to date, finished in third place behind Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner and Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott.

It's now been revealed that he was paid £320,000 for taking part, while the register of MPs' financial interests reveals that he donated £10,000 of the fee to charity (via BBC News).

A spokesperson for Hancock said: "As well as raising the profile of his dyslexia campaign in front of 11 million viewers, Matt's donated £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association."

It's also been reported that Hancock was paid £45,000 for participating in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which was filmed before I'm a Celeb and will air later this year.

This appears in an earlier update to the Register of Members' Interests, which confirmed he filmed for the programme in September and October 2022.

Last month, Hancock's I'm a Celeb co-star Scarlett Douglas revealed that he wasn't in the WhatsApp group with the rest of the 2022 cast.

"We've all got our little WhatsApp group and we're all messaging all the time so hopefully that doesn't die down," she explained.

"I'm not the admin of that WhatsApp group so if Mike [Tindall] wants to invite [Matt] he absolutely can, but it's not me to put the invitation out so we'll see what happens. Ultimately we’re all going to try and stay in touch, which is important."

However, it seems the group chat died down after all, as Scarlett more recently admitted that everyone ghosted her.

She said: "I just said, 'Hey, team, how are you all? I miss you lots.' And no-one replied. I guess that means no-one's missing me."

I'm a Celebrity will return later this year for an All-Stars series on ITV1 and ITVX.
