COLUMBUS — The Lettermen Row crew is starting the offseason by breaking down where key position battles stands in mid-January for Ohio State — and where it will end up through spring practice and into August training camp.

That’s where the conversation begins for Spencer Holbrook, Tim May and Andy Backstrom as they make their picks and break down three candidates who will flash in winter workouts — and help Ohio State compete for a national title next season. We’re each picking a breakout candidate for the Buckeyes as they dive into winter workouts in the coming weeks.

Who will stand out in the weight room alongside Mickey Marotti? Spencer has second-year defensive end Caden Curry making his move up the depth chart. Tim is predicting second-year running back Dallan Hayden will take a major step forward in his development in the coming months. And Andy dives into one of the biggest question marks for the Buckeyes by selecting second-year cornerback Jyaire Brown as his pick to break out this winter.

Why did the guys make those picks? And are any other Buckeyes catching their eyes as winter training heats up? It’s all included in the latest video from Lettermen Row.
