The Hope Evening Lions Club recently hosted the Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee. As usual, a good crowd was on hand to visit with club members and enjoy delicious refreshments.

The Hope Kiwanis Club heard a program from Dolly Henley and Jerry Fisk about the upcoming James Black’s Bowie Heritage Festival set for Washington April 21st and 22nd. Fisk is a Master Bladesmith and has been named a “National Living Treasure”. He lives near Nashville in Howard County.

Historic Washington State Park recently held a Dutch Oven Workshop. The park has several of these each year and range from those for beginners to advanced dutch oven cookers. For information on the next workshop call the park office at 983-2684.

Historic Washington State Park Holds Dutch Oven Workshop

On March 17, 2023 at approximately 6:50am, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Brian Lee, 53, of Hope, AR. Mr. Lee was arrested and charged with battery in the 3rd degree and failure to register as sex offender. The arrest occurred in the 800 block of West 3rd Street in Hope, AR. Mr. Lee was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.
