A man who was wanted by Exeter police for attempting to cash a stolen check believed to be taken during a store robbery is set to appear in court next week.Daury Rodriguez Contreras, 20, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was taken into custody at Logan Airport last week, officials said.Investigators said he is one of five people suspected of robbing an EZ Mart Shell Station clerk at gunpoint last August.He does not face any charges directly related to the robbery, but he is charged with theft by unauthorized taking on accusations that he tried to deposit a check taken during the robbery into his own bank account.“We do not yet know the extent of any involvement beyond the attempt to deposit the stolen check, but it’s possible that he could face additional charges as this investigation continues,” police chief Stephan Poulin said in a statement. Massachusetts State Police arrested him on the Exeter police warrant while he was boarding a flight out of Boston last Friday.He’s being held ahead of a hearing next week.Police said there is only one man charged directly in connection with the armed robbery. Kendry Rosa Ortega, 21, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was indicted by a grand jury last year, police said.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Exeter Police Department at 603-772-1212. A man who was wanted by Exeter police for attempting to cash a stolen check believed to be taken during a store robbery is set to appear in court next week.
