Overland route leaves tracks through residents’ yards: Pepper Pike Police Blotter

Police said the damage to at least two yards on Providence Road appeared to be intentional. In a separate incident, a Ginger Wren Road resident reported their unlocked 2022 Cadillac SUV rummaged through, possibly over the course of the same night.

Criminal damaging: Providence Road

Two residents reported unknown vehicles driving through their front yards Jan. 21, leaving considerable lawn damage.

Police said the turfing looked intentional, with the driver cutting from one side of the road to the other at the “T” intersection.

Theft from vehicle: Ginger Wren Road

A resident reported Jan. 21 that their unlocked 2022 Cadillac SUV had been rummaged through overnight. Missing items included prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses, along with designer bags and miscellaneous change, valued at a total of $7,000.

Harassing communications: Landerwood Drive

A resident reported Jan. 21 receiving unwanted phone calls, texts and emails, believed to be coming from the ex-wife of the resident’s current boyfriend.

Police contacted the suspect, who lives in Northwest Ohio, and told her to stop or face criminal charges, with no further activity reported as of Jan. 26.

Harassment: Shaker Boulevard

A resident reported Jan. 20 that a sister-in-law had been harassing him at his place of employment for unspecified reasons.

Traffic stop: Lander Road

A South Euclid man, 21, was stopped at 11 p.m. Jan. 23 and issued warnings for a stop sign violation and having only one working headlight. A small amount of suspected marijuana was seized.

Traffic stop: Pinetree Road

A Cleveland man, 31, was stopped Jan. 24, initially for an obstructed license plate, and was then advised that he had failed to fully reinstate his suspended license, which otherwise appeared to have been taken care of through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Warnings were issued and the car was turned over to a valid driver.

Damage to property: Pinetree Road, Thornapple Lane

A U.S. Postal Service van slid into a ditch Jan. 22, causing some damage to a yard that might require repairs. The Post Office called in its own tow, and the van did not appear to be damaged.
