Threat prompts Friday closure of Longmeadow middle school

Allen Street will be closed on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of the Hampden House and mini-mall area.

Palmer made an initial court appearance Thursday. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office he will appear in a federal court in Boston at a later date.

The boy’s father who was at work when it happened said he called 911 and rushed home after he got a call from his other son who witnessed the incident.

Information is limited but Chicopee Police confirmed that there was no threat to the public.
