Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and Jane the Virgin's Justin Baldoni have landed their next lead roles in an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel It Ends With Us.
The film follows Lily Bloom (Lively), a recent college graduate who moves to Boston and falls in love with a neurosurgeon named Ryle (Baldoni), Deadline reports.
But as the two grow closer, Lily's old flame Atlas reappears in her life, threatening her and Ryle's budding romance.
Baldoni will also direct the movie from a script adapted by Christy Hall (I Am Not Okay With This), while Lively and Hoover will be executive producers alongside Baldoni, Steve Sarowitz and Andrew Calof.

It Ends With Us, which was originally released in 2016, found huge TikTok success which helped it become the top-selling print book of 2022. Hoover is currently the best-selling author in the United States with over 20 million books sold.
Baldoni is best known for his role as Rafael Solano in Jane the Virgin, although since the show's conclusion in 2019, he has worked more behind the camera with films such as Clouds and Five Feet Apart.
He's currently working on a live-action Pac-Man movie. The exact plot remains unclear, but Sonic the Hedgehog writer Chuck Williams is said to have worked on the original storyline.

Meanwhile, Lively has also been spending some time behind the camera.
The actress directed the music video for Taylor Swift's 'I Bet You Think About Me' back in 2021, and was nominated at the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards for directing and producing.
Last year, it was announced that Lively will make her big screen directorial debut with an adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel Seconds, which follows a chef who receives the power to fix her past mistakes.
