SAN ANGELO – 17 individuals were arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center over the last 24 hours on a variety of charges including Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Marijuana and Controlled Substances.
62-year-old Jimmy Wayne Tharp of Mertzon was arrested by Irion County Sheriff's Deputies. He was booked at 7:01 p.m. into the Tom Green County Jail. Court records show Tharp was indicted by a Grand Jury in January on one count of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact. No bond was listed.
25-year-old Douglas Giese was arrested by Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies for Criminal Mischief greater than $750 but less than $2,500. He was booked into jail at 4:58 a.m. Friday and was released at 7:28 a.m. after posting $5,000 bond.
Criminal Mischief is defined as "Texas Penal Code §28.03 provides that a person commits criminal mischief when: without the effective consent of the owner; he or she intentionally or knowingly; damages or destroys the tangible property of the owner."
