Nick Offerman will make his debut as survivalist Bill in the next episode of HBO's The Last of Us, and the actor has teased fans with a little sneak peak.

Taking to Twitter, the Parks and Recreation star shared three stills from the upcoming episode, writing: "Episode 3, 'Long Long Time'. Sunday night on HBO."

The photos see Bill pointing a gun at someone while wearing a bandolier over his shoulder, sitting across from a glass of wine, and speaking with Joel (Pedro Pascal) outside of a gated compound.

Fans of the video game will know Bill as a paranoid survivalist who – like Offerman's Parks and Recreation character Ron Swanson – is prepared for any disaster possible.

However, Bill takes it to the extreme by living in a fortress of his own creation and setting traps in case anyone dares to infringe on his domain, though he may not be as merciless as he initially seems.

Episode three will also introduce fans to Frank (played by Murray Bartlett) and, according to Digital Spy's spoiler-free review of the show, he and Bill "are about to hit you in a big way".

Meanwhile, Bella Ramsey (who plays Ellie) recently said that season two of The Last of Us is looking "pretty likely".

"If people keep watching, I think [season 2] is pretty likely," she told Jack Rafferty on BBC Sounds. "It's down to the guys at HBO. There's nothing confirmed yet, so we'll have to wait and see."

Going on to discuss the show's success in changing from one medium to another, she added: "It's really cool that video games can work in a cinematic medium.

"Maybe [The Last of Us] will form a blueprint for video game adaptations going forwards. It's such a good representation of how video games can be adapted in the right hands."

The Last of Us airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
