8 suspects wanted out of Mississippi, arrested in Gonzales

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – Eight people accused of crimes out of Mississippi were arrested Thursday night in Gonzales, Louisiana.

According to Gonzales police, Gulfport Mississippi Police Department contacted Gonzales police about an active manhunt regarding the individuals they recently detained. Two suspects have warrants issued by the Gulfport Police Department and a location for the suspects. Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and Gonzales Police Department officers watched the location on Caroline Street. During the investigation, suspects were seen getting into described vehicles parked at the residence.

Once the suspects pulled off, local authorities followed and attempted to perform a routine traffic stop, which resulted in a short pursuit, police said. The chase ended in the arrest of the fleeing suspects at the LA 44/LA 42 intersection.

Police said the following have been booked and charged:

Logan Delena, 27, of Saicier, Mississippi, a fugitive arrest for Mississippi was charged with seven counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, illegal possession of stolen things, aggravated flight from an officer, possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance, illegal carrying of weapons and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Blake Menefee, 20, of Gonzales, a fugitive arrest for Mississippi was charged with seven counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, illegal possession of stolen things, aggravated flight from an officer, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and illegal carrying of weapons.

Susan Zeringue, 40, of Gonzales, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute Schedule II.

Raven Guidry, 32, of Thibodaux, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Elcee Guillard, 36, of Westwego, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Jerry Benoit, 33, of Thibodaux, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Richard Morris, 38, of New Orleans, was charged with five counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms and possession of stolen things.

Sidney Nelson, 39, of Gonzales, was charged with five counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms and possession of stolen things.
