SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A windy morning will be followed by another round of snow Friday evening and into Saturday morning.
Gusts as high as 50 mph have been reported in some areas already Friday morning.
The wind forecast will be improving later this morning across eastern KELOLAND, with gusts returning to the 20mph range as we finish the day. The next system for Friday evening will produce a moderate amount of wind south of I-90, with gusts near 30 mph late this evening.
Winter weather alerts
In the northeast part of KELOLAND, a winter weather advisory is currently in place. That is set to expire by noon Friday.
The Rapid area and southern KELOLAND are always in a winter weather advisory. This advisory, however, will last until Saturday.
From Winnter to Yankton, and into Nebraska and Iowa, there will be a winter storm warning in effect Friday evening into Saturday afternoon.

How much snow to expect depends on where you live.
As of 6 a.m. CT, the heaviest accumulation is expected from Winner to Yankton.
Sioux Falls, on the other hand, will likely see 2-5″ of fluffy snow.

SD road conditions
Roads are already turning slippery again this morning in parts of eastern South Dakota.
The Minnehaha County sheriff posted on Twitter, warning drivers of blowing snow that is making for slick conditions.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says roads in the northeast corner of the state are covered in ice.
Troopers say the strong winds are also causing dangerous conditions.
There are no travel advisories around Sisseton and Milbank.
Authorities are urging people to slow down and move over for law enforcement.
