It took a thrilling charge against #22 ranked in 2A PCM for the Dutch to ultimately sweep the Grinnell boys wrestling triangular in the final dual meets of the 2022-23 season, with Pella edging the Mustangs 41-36 and defeating the hosting Tigers 55-24. PCM also defeated Grinnell 54-28.

In the Dutch-Mustangs dual, it was PCM who had the early advantage, building a 36-4 edge after the first seven matches, which included five pinfall wins for Donovan Nickelson (182), Nate Richards (195), Kaden Clark (285), Charlie Sitzmann (113), and Zach Richards (120). But Pella would roar back in the middle weights, with victories by fall for JT Pollock (126), Damion Clark (132), Rex Rhamy (138), Logan Bruxvoort (160), and Jackson Van Kley (170) — who entered his match with Pella trailing 36-35. T.R. Putz also earned a critical 8-7 decision at 152.

Pella was able to control the Tigers throughout the second dual, with pinfall wins from Van Kley, Daniel Roozenboom (106), Clark, Peyton Ritzert (138), Putz, and Bruxvoort. The Pella Christian senior Ritzert made history — getting to the 100 win mark during the evening’s festivities.
