Bicyclist Fatally Struck By SUV in Pomona

Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: A bicyclist was fatally struck by an SUV Thursday evening in the city of Pomona.

Pomona Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a bicyclist down in lanes at East First and San Lorenzo Streets just before 7:30 p.m., Jan. 26.

Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located an SUV that had struck a bicyclist and the rider was down on the street, not breathing.

Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the bicyclist dead on scene.

It is unknown at this time how the crash occurred or if alcohol or speed was a factor.

Pomona PD Traffic Bureau will be investigating the fatal crash.
