Chuwi launches 10.5-inch HiPad XPro for US$150 with Android 12 support and an 8-core Unisoc T616 SoC
Chuwi has announced the HiPad XPro set to replace the popular outgoing HiPad X. When compared to its 10.1-inch predecessor, the latest model offers a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen with quad speakers instead of two, narrower display bezels, and updated 8 MP and 13 MP cameras. Core specifications include:
- 10.5-inch 1920 x 1200 16:10 touchscreen
- 8-core Unisoc T616 SoC (2x Cortex-A75 + 6x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8 GHz)
- 360-nit maximum brightness
- 6 GB RAM
- 128 GB storage w/ MicroSD support up to 1 TB
- Android 12
- 7 mm thickness
- 500 g
Perhaps the most attractive aspect of the HiPad XPro will be its target launch price of just $149 USD to make it one of the most affordable Android 12 tablets for the screen size. A slightly larger and more expensive model called the HiPad Pro 10.8 is already shipping with a 2.5K touchscreen for $219.
We don't expect the HiPad XPro to be very fast, however, as the Unisoc T616 SoC is not an upgrade from the Unisoc T618 SoC that powers the older HiPad X. It should nonetheless be sufficient for video streaming purposes.
Chuwi says the HiPad XPro will begin shipping by the end of January or sometime in February at the latest.
