Teen throws kickball at car: Bay Village Police Blotter

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio

Mischief, Perry Drive

At 2:27 p.m. Jan. 17, a driver reported to officers that he had been flagged down by a teenage girl. When he stopped his car, the girl threw a kickball at his car, then left.

Officers responded to the area, but were unable to locate the girl. There was no damage to the car.

Drunk driving: Wolf Road

At 4:59 p.m. Jan. 16, someone reported that a driver was operating a car recklessly.

After observing the car committing several traffic violations, an officer stopped the driver near Cahoon Road. After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected that she had been drinking.

Field sobriety tests were administered and the 75-year-old Bay Village resident was arrested.

Rather large cat door: Parkside Drive

At 11:45 a.m. Jan. 18, a pedestrian reported that he saw the side door of a house standing open for two days in a row, and there were no cars in the driveway.

Responding officers spoke with the resident, who claimed he leaves the door open so his cat can come and go as he pleases.

Theft: Dover Center Road

At 12:09 p.m. Jan. 20, a patron at Dover Commons reported that the rear window of his car had been broken out and tools were stolen. Officers are investigating.

Suspicious: Plymouth Drive

At 6:06 p.m. Jan. 20, a resident reported that a dark-colored sedan was racing around the neighborhood. An officer responded to the area, but was unable to locate the car.

Drunk driving: Dover Center Road

At 1:15 a.m. Jan. 21, an officer stopped a driver near the railroad tracks for a traffic violation. After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected that they had been drinking.

Field sobriety tests were administered, and the 23-year-old North Olmsted resident was arrested.
