Flintridge Prep Wins; LCHS, FSHA Lose Games

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team lost a Rio Hondo League game at Monrovia, 3-1, last Friday as sophomore Hailee Takao scored the lone goal.
The Spartans were previously shut out at South Pasadena, 2-0, after giving up a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes.
LCHS hosted Temple City for a league contest yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
La Cañada (4-4-1 overall, 1-2 in league) will visit Blair High in Pasadena on Friday, Jan. 20, at 3:15 p.m. before hosting South Pasadena on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves edged visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena, 2-1, in a Prep League game last Friday. It was a crucial matchup between two of the league’s top teams as Flintridge Prep claimed sole possession of first place in the standings.
Seniors Chayse Ying and Presley Nevadomsky each scored one goal while senior Miranda Thomson was credited with a pair of assists.
The Wolves previously routed their rival Pasadena Poly in a league game, 9-0. Senior Sage Shurman racked up two goals and two assists, Nevadomsky registered a pair of goals, and senior goalie Ana Bozzi-Mackay posted her fifth shutout of the season. Freshman Scarlett Coombes and Ying each had one goal and one assist, while sophomore Dagny Marion, sophomore Valentina Mancilla and freshman Valentina Ronga each scored once. Thomson finished with two assists while junior Zaria Echemendia recorded one assist.
Flintridge Prep (11-2-2 overall, 3-0-1 in league) will visit Palos Verdes Chadwick on Friday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. before traveling to Westridge School in Pasadena on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs were shut out by visiting Harvard-Westlake of Studio City, 5-0, in a Mission League game last Friday.
FSHA tied visiting Chaminade High of West Hills, 1-1, in a league matchup on Wednesday as junior captain Sachi Kaneko-Grun scored once.
The Tologs previously tied visiting Marymount High of Los Angeles in a league game, 2-2. Senior captain Annamaria Vazquez registered a pair of goals while Kaneko-Grun was credited with a pair of assists.
FSHA hosted Sierra Canyon High of Chatsworth in a league contest yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The Tologs (6-3-2 overall, 0-2-2 in league) will host Notre Dame High of Sherman Oaks in a league rematch on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 5 p.m. Flintridge Sacred Heart previously lost its league opener at Notre Dame, 6-3, on Jan. 6.
