Chase through Orange County ends with PIT maneuver
A driver was taken into custody after leading authorities on a high-speed chase from Long Beach through Orange County Thursday.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was arrested when California Highway Patrol officers slammed into his vehicle, bringing an end to a wild chase from Long Beach through Orange County Thursday.

AIR7 HD was over the chase just before 5 p.m. as the suspect was speeding on surface streets in the Seal Beach area.

CHP tried performing PIT maneuvers several times, only for the suspect to speed up and continue fleeing.

Significant front-end damage was on the suspect' car as he weaved through traffic, primarily on surface streets.

CHP officers were chasing a suspect in a car with front-end damage through Long Beach and parts of Orange County.

The driver was on Pacific Coast Highway as multiple patrol cruisers were close behind, but the chase ended in the Costa Mesa area near Sunflower Avenue and Harbor Boulevard when a CHP vehicle was able to hit the suspect's car and throw him off course.

The suspect put his hands up and surrendered without incident.

Authorities say the driver was wanted for speeding and failed to stop on the 710 Freeway at Anaheim Street in Long Beach.
