Emmerdale star Emma Atkins predicts split for Charity and Mack

Emmerdale's Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd are currently planning to tie the knot, but actress Emma Atkins – who plays Charity – has shared her own doubts about the couple's future together.

Regular viewers will know that Mack recently learnt he's the father of Chloe Harris's baby following their one-night-stand last year, though Charity is completely unaware of the whole situation.

The truth will finally be revealed this year, but Emma doubts Charity will be able to move past Mack's deception and thinks it will mark the end of their relationship.

"There's a baby on the way, so there are two secrets in a way. It's not just that he has cheated but he's also got baggage to prove it. So there's so much at stake now," the soap star explained.

"I shouldn't imagine they'll be able to stay together if and when it does come out. That's a shame in a way as I love working with Lawrence. But who knows, maybe she would find it in her to forgive him.

"But at this point in time I can't see that happening because Charity has put all of her trust in him. So when it does come out I think it will be such a shock. And the word shock is probably going to be the understatement of the year."

If Mack manages to keep a hold of his big secret until after he and Charity get hitched, Emma says that there are "hints" the couple will go for a "big wedding".

"At first the lady doth protest too much as she keeps saying she doesn't want a big wedding," she shared. "But now she's got her head round it, she's now thinking why don't we go for the full meringue. So I can imagine it's going to be big, bold and brassy.

"Typical Charity wanting everyone to know that this is her big day which will obviously be way more contrasting for all the awfulness that is hiding behind the day."
