Kansas City drug-trafficking conspiracy now includes 27 defendants, 112 counts of drug trafficking and illegal firearms

The drug-trafficking conspiracy spanned the Kansas City metro area.

A total of 27 people have been indicted as part of a drug-trafficking conspiracy in the Kansas City metro area. Anthony D. Harris, 40, and Latrell O. Dean, 19, both of Grandview, Mo., and Seville S. Gardner, 37, were the three latest defendants charged in a 112-count indictment unsealed on Jan. 26. The indictment alleges that 26 of 27 defendants in the case participated in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana in Jackson County. The investigation into the conspiracy began in April 2021. The ATF discovered that marijuana, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, ecstasy pills, counterfeit pills made with fentanyl and OxyContin pills were sold in the metro area. The year-long investigation involved over 200 law enforcement agencies from local and federal agencies, including the ATF, DEA, US Marsha's Office, Kansas City Police Department and Independence Police Department. Items seized by authorities included 27 firearms, 1,877 rounds of ammunition, over 11.1 kilograms of marijuana, 300.9 grams of cocaine, 278.91 grams of other illegal drugs, and $34,439 in cash.Dean was also charged with one count of participating in a robbery conspiracy.

The investigation into the conspiracy began in April 2021.

The ATF discovered that marijuana, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, ecstasy pills, counterfeit pills made with fentanyl and OxyContin pills were sold in the metro area.

The year-long investigation involved over 200 law enforcement agencies from local and federal agencies, including the ATF, DEA, US Marsha's Office, Kansas City Police Department and Independence Police Department.

Items seized by authorities included 27 firearms, 1,877 rounds of ammunition, over 11.1 kilograms of marijuana, 300.9 grams of cocaine, 278.91 grams of other illegal drugs, and $34,439 in cash.

Dean was also charged with one count of participating in a robbery conspiracy.
