Minor injuries after SUV ends up on roof in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man suffered minor injuries after he had a medical emergency and his SUV ended up on its roof Thursday.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Edgewood Drive, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. The driver, Thomas Nield, 54, of Jefferson City suffered a medical emergency and hit a light pole in the median before going into the eastbound lanes and hitting a curb, causing his Jeep Cherokee to roll over, police said.

An ambulance took Nield to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment. Traffic was briefly restricted after the crash, police said.
