CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery Central High School band has been recognized with a National Scholastic Music Education Advocacy award.

The award recognizes the commitment and dedication of Montgomery Central High School to music and the arts as innovative learning opportunities for a well-rounded education.

Led by their Band Director, Vanessa Cobb, the students and band booster organization held a smoked chicken fundraiser. From the first year’s proceeds, the band purchased 100 new uniforms. The most significant impact of the fundraiser is the sense of unity and camaraderie created between the new band director and the MCHS families.

The program has been named one of 22 schools across the nation to receive an Advocacy in Action Award from Music for All.
