Rochester, N.Y. — Detric Marshall, 39, was visibly emotional standing before a judge Thursday morning, crying before the judge as he pleaded not guilty to the stabbing death of his 70-year-old father, Charles.
Police said Marshall stabbed his father numerous times during a physical altercation Wednesday night at their home on Dayton Street.
Officers said when they arrested Marshall on North Clinton Avenue, they found he was on probation for a drug conviction.
He also had an outstanding bench warrant in Perry, Wyoming County for failing to appear in court for a drug-related violation.
Marshall is being held in Monroe County Jail without bail.
Police also arrested Napoland Marshall on Dayton Street, after he allegedly assaulted an officer while being detained for remaining at the scene of an active homicide investigation.
