<em>Pippin</em> tells the story of a troupe of performers, led by the charismatic Leading Player. The ensemble cast tells the story of Pippin, a young prince who longs to find passion and adventure in his life. Memorable musical moments include <em>Magic to Do</em>, <em>Corner of the Sky</em>, <em>No Time at All</em> and many more.

This production celebrates <em>Pippin</em> opening 50 years ago at the Imperial Theater on Broadway with original, now-famous cast members such as Ben Vereen, John Rubenstein, Jill Clayburgh and Leland Palmer as well as seasoned performers Eric Berry and Irene Ryan. Originally directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse with a score by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson, <em>Pippin</em> opened in October, 1972. Nominated for 11 Tony awards, it garnered five. Revivals featured such stars as Barry Williams, Larry Riley, Andrea Martin, Lucie Arnaz and James Royce Edwards and many more.

Advertising for the Broadway production broke new ground with the first TV commercial that actually showed scenes from a Broadway show. The 60-second commercial showed Ben Vereen and two chorus dancers, Candy Brown and Pamela Sousa, in the instrumental dance sequence from <em>Glory</em>. The commercial ended with the tagline, “You can see the other 119 minutes of <em>Pippin</em> live at the Imperial Theatre, without commercial interruption.”
