Troy man accused of setting off explosives that damaged SUV

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) —
A Troy man faced an Albany County Judge, arraigned on charges, accused of setting off an explosive that damaged a car in Watervliet.

41-year-old Robert Melendez pleaded not guilty in court on January 25th. He's charged with arson and criminal mischief.
He's accused of setting off an explosion in the area of Fourth and Seventh Street that was heard a mile away in the area back on September 24th, 2021
Officers who arrived on the scene described extensive damage to the windshield and hood of an SUV.
This triggered an investigation that also involved the FBI, and State Police.
