PODCAST: Are seahorses secret assassins?

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Seahorses may look cute and harmless on the surface, but studies show there's a lot more to them than meets the eye.

In fact, one study published by the Journal of Nature Communications revealed that the creatures are deadlier than sharks. More specifically, the study says that the average great white shark has a kill rate of around 48 percent, while the average seahorse has a kill rate of about 90 percent.

That data alone suggests the underwater animals should be classified as apex predators, so why aren't they? Has humanity really been underestimating their potential this whole time?

On this week's episode of "Your Weirdest Fears," listen as host Larry Mullins dives into a discussion with marine biologist - and seahorse expert - Dr. Lucy Woodall for some clarity.
