MIDVALE — A cab driver is accused of inappropriately touching a woman he was driving to a Midvale hotel.

Shah Zaman Khan, 62, was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

The woman ordered a cab on June 26 to take her to a hotel. The driver, Khan, "motioned for her to sit in the front seat, called her 'beautiful' several times, and began stroking her hair," according to charging documents.

Khan then touched the woman in other areas despite her telling him "No" multiple times, the charges state. "(Khan) used his position as a cab driver to prey on the victim."

Once she arrived at the hotel, the woman told the front desk clerk what had allegedly happened and the clerk wrote down the license plate and unit number of the cab, the charges state, and then called police.

"The victim described to law enforcement that she was scared and crying," according to the charges.

A warrant was issued Thursday for Khan's arrest.
