ARE OUT AND JOIN THE AFTERNOON. REI. THAT’S RIGHT, JEAN. THE OPERATIONS MANAGER HERE SAYS THEY GOT ABOUT A HALF FOOT OF SNOW BEFORE THE RAINS CAME AROUND MIDNIGHT. BUT HE SAYS THE SNOW THAT THEY GOT SETS UP PERFECTLY FOR THE WEEKEND. EARLIER THIS MORNING, THOUGH, NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE WERE KEPT BUSY RESPONDING TO NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS DURING THE STORM, SUCH AS THIS ONE ON 89 NORTH. FORTUNATELY, THE DRIVER WAS UNINJURED AND THE DAYLIGHT HOURS, THE CONDITIONS IMPROVED CONSIDERABLY AS THE PLOWS PUSHED BACK THE SLUSH THAT HAD ACCUMULATED. NOW, FOR THOSE WHO LOVE WINTER SPORTS THIS SEASON HAS BEEN TOUGH. BUT AT MOUNT SUNAPEE, A LUCKY FEW WERE ENJOYING A DAY ON THE SLOPES. THE SKIERS REPORTING IT WAS SPRING CONDITIONS. SOME SKIERS DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IF THE MOUNTAIN WOULD BE OPEN, JUST DECIDING TO ROLL THE DICE. BUT ALL AGREE THAT A DAY ON THE SLOPES BEATS A DAY IN THE OFFICE. I’M PLAYING HOOKY FROM WORK TODAY AND TRYING TO GET SOME SKIING. AND IT’S MY BIRTHDAY, SO I SAID, TO HELL WITH IT, I’M OUT. I’M GOING TO GO. IF IT’S CLOSED, I’M. I’M OUT OF LUCK. I TOOK A NICE TRY. IT’S AWESOME. I JUST KEEP GOING DOWN. I GO RIGHT BACK UP AND DOWN AND UP. I’M ON MY SEVENTH AROUND, I THINK EIGHTH RUN. AND I GOT HERE PROBABLY AN HOUR AGO. AND AS YOU CAN SEE, IT’S STILL A GOOD SITUATION AS FAR AS THE LIFT LINES ARE CONCERNED. NOW, THE MOUNTAIN HAS ABOUT 70% OF ITS TERRAIN OPEN AND THAT’S. PLANS ARE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY FOR THE WEEKEND AS WELL. REPORTING LIVE AT MOUN
