It’s back to the minors for Miguel Andujar, who has been outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Kevin Gorman reports “Andujar has cleared waivers and will receive a non-roster invite to Pirates spring training. Pirates DFA’d Andujar when they signed Andrew McCutchen, gambling that no team would claim his $1.525M salary.”

Fansided’s Robert Murray reported in November that per a source, “Miguel Andujar, Pirates settle at $1.525 million, avoiding arbitration.”
MLB Trade Rumors reports Andujar lost his spot on the 40-man roster to the recently-signed Andrew McCutchen.
He’ll report to camp and try to reestablish himself on the 40-man roster as a right-handed bench bat. ... Andújar is out of minor league option years, though, meaning he’d have to stick on the MLB roster or again be DFA if he earns a call-up at any point.
The Pirates claimed Andujar claimed off waivers from the New York Yankees in September.

Andujar burst onto the scene in 2018, hitting 27 home runs with 92 RBI as a rookie third baseman for New York.
But Andujar tore his labrum on the opening weekend of 2019, marking the beginning of three injury-plagued years which saw him bounce between the Bronx and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.
Andujar hit .229 with one home run in 27 games with the Yankees in 2022 before being designated for assignment.
He played in nine games last season for the Pirates, hitting .250 in 36 at-bats.
