FS1 features 1 p.m. CT national television broadcast

The No. 16/15 Marquette University men's basketball team (16-5, 8-2 BIG EAST) wraps up its two-game road swing on Saturday, Jan. 28 when the squad travels to DePaul (9-12, 3-7 BIG EAST) for a 1 p.m. CT matchup in Wintrust Arena.  FS1 features the television broadcast, with Jeff Levering (play-by-play) and LaVall Jordan (analyst) calling the action.  Following Saturday's outing, the Golden Eagles return to host Villanova (Feb. 1) and Butler (Feb. 4) on National Marquette Day.

Series With DePaul Spans Program History

Marquette's all-time series with DePaul dates back to the 1917-18 season (second year of MU's varsity history) and includes 131 previous meetings, the highest total against any single opponent in team history.

The Golden Eagles own an 81-50 advantage in the series  and the extensive series history has been aided by the fact the two programs have been in the same league dating back to the 1991-92 campaign.  Since that season, the teams have shared affiliation in the Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and BIG EAST.

The Blue Demons have claimed three of the previous five meetings and the teams split the home-and-home series in 2021-22, with each program winning on its respective home court.  DePaul rallied for a 91-80 win on March 2, 2002 in the last meeting and Justin Lewis led four players in double figures with 26 points.

MU Set For Second Half Of League Schedule

Marquette's first bye week of the BIG EAST schedule came at the midway point of the league slate, allowing the Golden Eagles the opportunity to catch their breath as the season's stretch run is set to begin.

The Golden Eagles, picked ninth in the preseason poll, own a share of second place through games of Jan. 25.  The team's 8-2 start to the conference season is its best since the 2018-19 campaign when the squad opened league action with a 12-2 mark.

Marquette is 3-1 on the year against top-25 opponents and has already matched last year's total of four road victories, the most recent coming Sunday afternoon at Seton Hall.  MU is ranked 16th in the latest Associated Press poll, its highest ranking (16/15) since March 4, 2019.
