Two more Pedestrians Struck by Cars in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two more pedestrians have been struck by vehicles in Chattanooga, according to police. Chattanooga police say that one pedestrian has died, and the other has non-critical injuries.


On Wednesday, CPD responded to a hit and run at 1800 E. 32nd St. They say a vehicle struck a bicycle and left the scene. The incident occurred around 1 p.m.

The bicyclist, a 62-year-old man, had life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he passed away, CPD said.

The driver has not been found yet. CPD is still investigating this incident.

Thursday morning, another pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Chattanooga. Shortly after 6 a.m., the incident took place at 1201 E. Main St.

Police say the pedestrian was laying in the road, unresponsive. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital. Police say his injuries are not critical.

CPD says the driver had the right of way, and no charges were filed.
