With February’s signing day a seeming formality and the transfer portal closed until May, Florida State is introducing its 2023 newcomers to the media during a series of press conferences.

Thursday brought interviews with three new transfers and one high school signee.

Braden Fiske (DT, Western Michigan) is the top interior defensive lineman in the On3 Portal rankings. Fiske had an offseason procedure to “clean up” his shoulder; he originally intended to enter the NFL Draft but the shoulder injury factored into heading into the portal. As with many recruits, he cited the quick contact from Mike Norvell and staff as an impressionable moment in his decision.

Keiondre Jones (OL, Auburn) started in 22 games on The Plains over four seasons. For Jones it was important to land somewhere with a culture in place, and the success FSU had in 2022 opened his eyes to the opportunity. Jones says there’s a championship expectation in the program and implored those uncommitted in the portal to consider Florida State.

Quindarrius Jones (DB, Meridian, Miss.) says he initially thought he was being recruited as a wide receiver but will likely platoon between boundary corner and safety.

Jaden Jones (DL, Hutchinson C.C, Kan.) is the #8 junior college edge defender in the On3 rankings. Jones injured his ACL in the second game of his season but has resumed strength training and squatted 315 pounds earlier in the week as he continues to rehabilitate.
