For the first time Wednesday, the newly-selected jury heard the lawyers outline the evidence against the heir to the Murdaugh legal and political dynasty. Lead prosecutor Creighton Waters told them the most damning evidence is the snapchat video putting him at the scene of the crime within minutes of the fatal gunfire.

However, defense team leader Dick Harpootlian says the same video proves just the opposite. The jury of four men and eight women were out of the courtroom during a discussion of crime scene photos when, also for the first time publicly, Alex Murdaugh broke down in tears.
