ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Salmon Dave’s has reopened.

The Rocky River restaurant, which is commemorating its 30th anniversary, had closed for a soup-to-nuts renovation that started Jan. 1. It opened Wednesday night.

Salmon Dave’s, at 19015 Old Lake Road, is one of nine restaurants owned by Hospitality Restaurants.

The renovation of the restaurant, which was built in 1910, began with exterior painting. A marble bar top was installed along with updated mood lighting, mosaic tiled floors and chrome accents. The decades-old mahogany back bar was disassembled and reconstructed to sit nearly two feet taller.

A re-tooled cocktail list features additional craft-spirit recipes. HR’s Private Barrel Series includes offerings like Watershed Nocino-finished Bourbon from Columbus. Wine by the glass is now offered in different sized pours.

Menu expansion includes new dishes that chef Marc Standen describes as “re-imagined coastal classics” like an East Coast rendition of bouillabaisse complimented by the Southern-inspired low country seafood boil and New Orleans-style grilled oysters with charred pepper butter and bacon breadcrumbs. All-American knife and fork fried chicken with black pepper cream gravy and Lake Erie fish and chips (walleye) with triple-cooked JoJo fries also are on the menu, according to the restaurant. And vegetarian and vegan dishes are available, including traditional sweet-corn Johnnycakes with whipped boursin and pepper jelly.

Hospitality Restaurants also owns Cabin Club in Westlake, Blue Point Grille and Thirsty Parrot in downtown Cleveland, Delmonico’s Steakhouse in Independence, Kingfish in Montrose and Rosewood Grill with locations in Strongsville, Hudson and Westlake.
