Stolen Kia found crashed into Cleveland tree: Parma Police Blotter

Stolen and crashed: Broadview Road

On Jan. 7, a Broadview Road resident reported that their Kia Optima had been stolen from a parking lot.

The good news was that the Kia was found later in Cleveland. The bad news was that the Optima had crashed into a tree.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Overdose: Charles Avenue

On Jan. 4, police were dispatched to a Charles Avenue address regarding a possible overdose. An arriving officer using Narcan revived a Parma man, who was then cited for disorderly conduct.

Drug abuse: Ridge Road

During a Jan. 5 traffic stop of a Honda Civic with an equipment violation on Ridge Road, officers discovered suspected felony drugs. The Cleveland driver was arrested for drug abuse.

Drug abuse: Ridge Road

During a Jan. 6 traffic stop of a Ford Focus for an equipment violation on Ridge Road, police discovered that the Parma driver was in possession of suspected felony drugs. He was arrested for drug abuse.

Attempted car theft: Broadview Road

On Jan. 7, the owner of a Kia Sorento made a startling discovery when going out to his vehicle, which was in a Broadview Road parking lot.

Apparently, someone had attempted to steal the Kia, but failed. However, they caused a lot of damage to the car. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Scam: Lincolnshire Lane

On Jan. 7, a Lincolnshire Lane resident came to the police station after discovering that she was a fraud victim.

The woman told an officer that she was scammed by a man claiming to be selling medical supplies. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Vandalism: Snow Road

On Jan. 7, police were dispatched to the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Snow Road branch regarding a vandalism call.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said two juveniles, suspected of causing damage in the library last November, were back inside the building.

The officer located the kids, who were arrested for vandalism.
