CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 19 First Alert Weather Day remains in effect through tonight.

Scattered lake effect snow showers produced quick 0.5″ to 1″ snowfall totals under the more persistent snow bands today.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties until 7 AM Friday.

Additional totals between 1″ to 2″ are possible into this evening.

Locally higher totals in some of the higher terrain zones south and east of Cleveland. Travel hazards of course due to this.

Organized lake effect activity will start to come to a close by midnight tonight.

A few lingering snow showers may be around early Friday.

Watch for slick road conditions through the Friday morning commute.

Winds will turn breezy overnight with gusts through the day on Friday upwards of 35 MPH.

We will catch a brief break from the snowy activity during the day tomorrow as temperatures warm into the lower and middle 30s.

A quick system arrives Friday night and could produce light snowfall totals between 0.5″ and 1″ as it swings through Northeast Ohio.

The weekend looks to start on a dry note before our next wintry system moves into the region late Saturday through Sunday.

Temperatures will be warm enough through the weekend to support rain, sleet, and a changeover to snow with the late weekend storm system.
