Known as one of the most famous football competitions in the world, the 2022/23 FA Cup returns this weekend with a jam packed 4th Round schedule.

With multiple Premier League sides set to face lower league opposition, upsets are likely as the 'Magic of the FA Cup' continues to rumble on.

This round also sees the Premier League top two face off in a huge clash on Friday as Manchester City host Arsenal. City will be hoping that their FA Cup hoodoo vs the Gunners doesn't return given that the London side have won all of the last four meetings between the sides in this competition.

Starting from Leicester City's visit to Walsall on Saturday, we look through the weekend's fixtures to pick out some of our favourite bets on the upcoming action.

Walsall vs Leicester City prediction

Walsall win +750 8.30 8/1 9.50
Draw +400 5.10 4/1 4.80
Leicester win -275 1.30 3/10 1.30
  • Moneyline lean: Leicester City to win (-275)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): Leicester -1.5 (-100)
  • Score prediction: Walsall 0-2 Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City side have very much had the rub of the green during their first two draws of this season's FA Cup. The Third Round saw them record a 1-0 victory away to League Two Gillingham — who were bottom of the entire Football League at that point — whilst the Fourth Round sees them make the short trip over to Birmingham to face Walsall, also of League Two.

Granted, the hosts find themselves much further up the fourth flight at present in comparison to Gillingham, but Leicester should again make light work of their lower league opposition here.

Walsall vs Leicester City: Best bet

  • Pick: Leicester to win 'to nil'
  • Odds: +110 (BetMGM)

It's been a very up and down season so far for Leicester who found themselves bottom of the Premier League after ten matches but have since rallied into 14th spot.

That up turn in form has been accompanied by a number of clean sheets thanks to their improving backline, recording nine across their last 17 competitive outings.

Their backline has also remained solid throughout this season's cup competitions so far. Across the League Cup and FA Cup, the Foxes have kept their opposition off the scoresheet four out of five times. What's interesting is that all four clean sheets came against lower league opposition, three against League Two sides, so we fancy their chances of continuing that trend again here against Walsall.

Preston vs Tottenham prediction

Preston win +825 8.25 9/1 9.50
Draw +450 5.00 9/2 5.20
Tottenham win -310 1.30 2.7 1.30
  • Moneyline lean: Spurs to win (-310)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): Spurs -1.5 (-110)
  • Score prediction: Preston 0-1 Spurs

It's been a weird season so far for Spurs.

Of late, there's been an echo of turmoil around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though on the pitch the north London club still find themselves in a very healthy position.

Not only are Harry Kane & co still in the Champions League with a last 16 clash vs. AC Milan on the horizon, but they remain in contention for a top four finish in the Premier League and an FA Cup run should be extended with their visit to Championship side Preston here.

Expected to go full strength again at Deepdale for this outing, this competition could perhaps be Tottenham's best chance to end their well-documented trophy drought and we're expecting them to get the job done in the 4th Round.

Preston vs Tottenham: Best bet

  • Pick: Spurs to win 'to nil'
  • Odds: +110 (BetMGM)

This bet is as much focused on Preston's lack of firepower as it is on Tottenham overall and there's good reason for that.

Whilst the Championship hosts remain in contention to finish the campaign in the playoff spots, they remain notoriously low scorers. In fact, of the 24 teams in England's second flight, they're the third-lowest scorers with just 26 finishes to their name through 28 league outings.

Those goals have been particularly hard to come by on home soil with the Lancashire side netting just eight times across 14 home Championship fixtures which has seen them win just three times all season.

Despite Spurs struggling themselves in defence since football's restart after the 2022 World Cup, the capital club should be strong enough to keep a valuable clean sheet here.

Manchester United vs Reading prediction

Man Utd win -600 1.15 1/8 1.15
Draw +700 7.25 7/1 7.50
Reading win +1500 15.00 18/1 19.00
  • Moneyline lean: Manchester United to win (-600)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): Manchester United -2.5 (-100)
  • Score prediction: Manchester United 3-0 Reading

Sincere apologies Reading fans, but we just can't see an upset coming at Old Trafford this weekend.

Whilst Manchester United find themselves in great nick of late under manager Erik ten Hag, Reading have now won just one of their past five matches and continue to leak goals from all angles. Their 4-0 loss to fellow mid table Championship side Stoke City last weekend points to potential more misery here.

Manchester United vs Reading: Best bet

  • Pick: Manchester United to win by exactly 3 goals
  • Odds: +360 (BetMGM)

We're picking a bit of a different bet here and going with United to win by exactly three goals.

That's potentially risky given the firepower that they possess at present - especially Marcus Rashford who is in the form of his career - but in recent years, the Red Devils have very rarely netted more than three times in a single home match.

In fact, to give this pick even more of a reason to be backed, United have won three of their prior five home outings exactly 3-0. One of those came in the League Cup against League One outfit Charlton and even though Reading arrive in Manchester from a higher division, their poor recent form rings alarm bells.

Wrexham vs Sheffield United prediction

Wrexham win +335 4.00 10/3 4.25
Draw +260 3.50 13/5 3.50
Sheff Utd win -125 1.80 3/4 1.80
  • Moneyline lean: Sheffield United to win (-125)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): Sheffield United -0.5 (120)
  • Score prediction: Wrexham 1-3 Sheffield United

Whilst Wrexham continue to live up to expectations in the National League — sitting joint-top with Notts County after 26 matches — their FA Cup journey this campaign is expected to come to an abrupt end at the hands of Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield Untied on Sunday.

A stunning 4-3 away victory to fellow Championship outfit Coventry in the 3rd Round will give Wrexham hope, but the Blades will offer up a much tougher test for the Welsh club who are co-owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

Wrexham vs Sheffield United: Best bet

  • Pick: Over 3.5 goals scored
  • Odds: +210 (BetMGM)

Over the past few seasons there's been one particular theme to matches involving Wrexham; goals, goals and more goals.

Currently averaging 2.58 goals scored per match in the fifth tier of the English football pyramid, Wrexham also put four past Championship side Coventry in the last round and will test Sheffield United's backline again here, especially through star striker Paul Mullin who has 25 goals in 29 outings this season.

But the Blades also enjoy a foray in front of goal and have now found the back of the net in nine straight competitive outings — all against significantly tougher opposition on paper.

That should mean plenty more goals on show in this fixture as United look to put the sword to Wrexham's defence who haven't kept a clean sheet in five consecutive matches.

Derby County vs West Ham prediction

Derby win +400 4.90 17/4 5.20
Draw +290 3.90 29/10 3.75
West Ham win +150 1.61 8/13 1.65
  • Moneyline lean: West Ham to win (+150)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): West Ham -0.5 (-150)
  • Score prediction: Derby 1-2 West Ham

Perhaps the pick of the FA Cup clashes on this list, League One Derby face West Ham on Monday at Pride Park.

This could easily be where the biggest upset of the round comes given that Derby are unbeaten across their last 13 competitive outings and the fact that West Ham remain out of sorts.

In fact, Derby have won their last five matches — including an easy 3-0 victory in the Third Round — whilst they've conceded just one goal across their prior seven home outings.

Another surprise loss here could also prove one too many for West Ham boss David Moyes. After Everton sacked Frank Lampard earlier this week, he's now the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked given West Ham's inability to keep up with expectations so far this campaign overall.

Derby County vs West Ham: Best bet

  • Pick: Both teams to score
  • Odds: -120 (BetMGM)

With the ITV cameras at Pride Park, we're expecting plenty of action in this match up and firmly expect both sides to find the back of the net.

As mentioned before, Derby come into this clash on the back of five straight victories across all competitions and will be full of belief that they can cause as upset. Their last five home matches have also seen them net 14 times.

West Ham, on the other hand, are still struggling for goals in general but should be helped by their higher quality of squad for this one. The last round of the FA Cup saw them record a tidy 1-0 victory away to Premier League rivals Brentford, and as such, they should come through this tie here against League One opposition.
