Ringgold Introduces Austin Crisp as New Head Football Coach

Ringgold, GA-(WDEF-TV) Ringgold didn’t have to go very far to find their new head football coach.
They turned to offensive coordinator Austin Crisp.

Crisp takes over for Robert Akins, who announced he was leaving earlier this month. Crisp has been an assistant for six years at Ringgold, serving as the O-C the last three seasons. He has also coached at LaFayette High School.

Crisp says taking over the reigns for Akins is a blessing, but it also comes with some challenges.

Said Crisp:”He coached probably when the game first started. He’s been around it a long time. its big shoes to fill as a person mainly. He’s a an unbeliev

able human being. I don’t know many people who don’t like coach Akins. Everyone loves him. It’s pretty big s

hoes to fill but we are up to the challenge.”
