Jim Harbaugh, Michigan land commit from a top recruit from Ohio

Michigan football has earned two huge wins over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the past two seasons and they were rewarded both times with successful trips to the Big Ten championship as well as berths in the College Football Playoff.

Both Michigan and Ohio State couldn't seal the deal in the CFP this season and ended up losing in the semifinal games to TCU and Georgia, respectively, but the battle between the two programs still continues on the recruiting trail.

At least in terms of territory, Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines just struck a blow.

Michigan has landed the commitment of 2024 3-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond from Cincinnati, Ohio (St. Xavier High School)

It's worth noting that Hammond did not have an offer from Ryan Day and Ohio State — yet — but Michigan's still going to celebrate this one as if it's a strike against the Buckeyes.

Anytime you can go into your rival's state and steal one out of their backyard, that's a win.

Per 247Sports, Hammond is the 10th-best 2024 recruit in the state of Ohio. He also has offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma, Pitt and Washington — amongst others.
