Are you a Buffy fanatic who plans to check out Wolf Pack purely to get your Sarah Michelle Gellar fix? If so, the former slayer herself has something to tell you.
“I think the main thing for them to know is that it’s a little bit of a slow burn with me, and to trust that there’s a reason I’m on this show,” the actress tells TVLine ahead of Wolf Pack‘s Jan. 26 series premiere on Paramount+. “It might not be obvious at first, but I promise there will be twists that they will not see coming.”
Along with executive-producing the Paramount+ series, Gellar also plays series-regular Kristin Ramsey, an arson investigator who gets more than she bargained for while looking into a California wildfire with (spoiler alert!) supernatural origins.
“It might not be obvious in the first three [episodes], but by the time you get to four and five you’re going to get some twists. … In [episode] eight, you’ll get the me you came to see. You’ve got to wait, but it’s worth the wait.”
Though Kristin does play a vital role in the story, Wolf Pack mainly focuses on a pair of teenagers (Armani Jackson as Everett and Bella Shepard as Blake) who suffer bites during the chaos of the wildfire, bonding them with two werewolf siblings (Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna and Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan).

I’ll be watching this just for SMG.
I’ll watch this, but EIGHT episodes before “you get the show you want to see.”? Hope I can last that long.
She said “me” not show. I’m taking it to mean she gets bit/supernatural powers then. Basically Buffy style hi jinks.
I’m thinking it means she plays the boring arson investigator until there’s some climax and then she turns out to be an action hero werewolf hunter using the fire department as a cover job.
I’m thinking the twist is that she is the hunted, not the hunter. I think SMG is the “Big Bad Wolf” :)
I remember when Dollhouse was premiering and Joss Whedon was like “it gets good in episode six.”
He was right, but shows nowadays need to hit the ground running.
The show ‘Almost Human’ with Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, and Minka Kelly was like that too. The first few episodes were a bit slow. We weren’t really sure where the show was going. But those of us who stuck it out for a few episodes just to see Urban and Ealy every week were rewarded with a very interesting and complex story developing. Until it got killed by Fox. (Hmmm… same network that killed Dollhouse… coincidence??). Broke my heart.
Moral of the story – Don’t trust Fox with a nuanced and interesting sci-fi show that is a slow burn. Hopefully Paramount+ is not as quick to pull the trigger on another potentially good show.
that writer’s strike derailed DH season 1 but it got way better with season 2
I just wish it was a SMG show. But I guess she wanted to commit less hours and just play a side character. Which is fair
Just great the main story is going to have frakkin teen drama. Stop with the garbage teenagers already.
I thought that was a given though. This was always a teen show and was marketed that way. I was always under the impression that SMG wasn’t actually the main character. Sure, the marketing posters have SMG on them, but if you actually watch the trailers, she is not the main focus.
Stop with the garbage teenagers? Seriously?! What are teenagers supposed to watch, Andrew Tate inspirational videos?!

I had seen the advertising for the show but didn’t pay much attention however now that I know Sarah Michele Gellar will be on the show I will be watching. Hey writers of the show, please give her lots of story line. Her fans miss her.
I cannot wait. It’s so good to finally see her back. and I’m glad its supernatural
I’m not going in thinking it’s going to be a new Buffy, because nothing will compare to that show for me. I’m just glad to have SMG and the supernatural together again in a show. It’s her niche.
Looking forward to this.
There doesn’t have to be a reason she’s on the show, she could be a typical, generic detective, and it’d still be great to watch her, because she would still slay the role… PUN FULLY INTENDED
But I’m glad there’s more to it than that :) CAN’T WAIT!
