Aggravated menacing: Mayfield Road

At 6:40 p.m. Jan. 21, an employee of Domino’s Pizza, 5139 Mayfield Road, reported that a caller had threatened to “blow up and shoot up” the store.

Having a weapon under disability: Farnhurst Road

At 1:35 a.m. Jan. 21, a woman, 52, called police to report that her son, 30, was at her home with a gun. She said her son had been involved in a shooting in Cleveland earlier that day.

According to the woman, who left the house in a car to call police, her son said he would shoot if police arrived at the home with flashing lights and sirens sounding. The son’s father remained at the house.

Lyndhurst police, as a precaution, called other police agencies to assemble a SWAT team to go to the house. It was learned, however, that the son did not have a weapon. He was sleeping when officers arrived at the home.

No one was charged. An investigation is under way.

Traffic complaint: Mayfield Road

At 6:55 p.m. Jan. 21, a Lakewood man, 46, reported that, while stopped at a traffic light, he rolled down his window and asked another motorist a question.

The man said the other driver responded by saying, “Do you want to get shot?”

The other driver then headed east into Mayfield Heights. Police searched, but could not find the other car. The police report did not state what question the man asked the other driver.

Disturbance: Mayfield Road

At 6:40 p.m. Jan. 17, police were called to Sharpy’s of Lyndhurst, 5720 Mayfield Road, where a man with shoes hanging around his neck was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the sandwich shop.

Store employees told police that the man is homeless and that they had given him food a few days earlier. He came back seeking more food and yelled at employees.

Officers located the man and told him he was no longer welcome at the shop.

It was also discovered that the 40-year-old was wanted on a Maple Heights police warrant, although the MHPD was unable to pick him up. Lyndhurst police released the man.
