A Honduran man living in Portland is facing federal drug charges after he was caught with two kilos of rainbow-colored fentanyl and several guns.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Oregon said Jose Isidro Zuniga Torres, 47, was charged with both conspiracy to possess and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Tigard Police investigators are working with the DEA and Homeland Security on a case involving the trafficking of drugs from Mexico for distribution in Oregon and Washington.
While watching a Portland motel as part of this case, investigators saw Zuniga and another man load several boxes and bags into a car, drive to another motel, and unload them into a different room.

The following day, investigators served a search warrant on that second room and arrested Zuniga. They also found various drugs and eight firearms.
Investigators say Zuniga admitted to possessing most of the drugs in the motel room, and said the guns were boxed up and set to be shipped to Honduras.
Zuniga made his first appearance Wednesday in federal court, and has been ordered to stay in custody pending further court proceedings.
So far, authorities have arrested eight people linked to the same international drug trafficking organization, and law enforcement has seized more than five kilos of fentanyl, four-and-a-half kilos of heroin, three kilos each of cocaine and meth, 45,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, and 12 guns.
