The city of Des Moines will pay to $45,000 to settle a lawsuit against the police department.The city council approved the settlement Monday in a four-year-long dispute with Dejuan Haynes.Haynes sued the city in 2018 after police pulled him over and put him in handcuffs. He claims the officers didn't have probable cause to make a traffic stop.Editor's note: A previous version of this story erroneously reported that Haynes claimed he was racially profiled when he was pulled over. He dropped that claim before the case reached a settlement.
