Woman found dead inside car on Indy’s northeast side

UPDATE:

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced on Feb. 23 that 51-year-old David Ross Sr. was arrested for reckless homicide in connection with the death of 53-year-old Jodessa Cooper.

ORIGINAL STORY:

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a woman was found dead with a gunshot wound on the city’s northeast side on Wednesday evening.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to Villages at the Mill Crossing in the 3800 block of Mill Crossing Drive, not far from Sherman Drive and 38th Street.

Officers reported finding a woman inside a car suffering with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as Jodessa Cooper, 53.

At this time, police haven’t released any additional information. IMPD Homicide detectives are investigating.
