Police search for Prunedale man accused of assaulting employee in Marina
Marina police are on the lookout for a man suspected of assaulting an employee of a business with a set of metal knuckles.
According to police, the man wanted in connection to the assault is Miguel Ramirez Barajas Jr., 38, of Prunedale.
Police said the alleged assault happened the morning of Jan. 20 on Dunes Drive.
According to investigators, Barajas approached the employee around 9:38 a.m. and punched him in the stomach, then put on a set of metal knuckles and continued to assault the employee, striking the victim in the face twice.
Barajas then pulled a pole from the ground and struck the victim in the legs; he then proceeded to pull a handgun from his waistband to further threaten the victim, police said.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Barajas ran from the scene before officers arrived. Barajas is considered armed and dangerous, police said. He was last seen in a dark-colored 2007 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with a California license plate 73125N1.
