The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation order for the residents in Rimrock and Lake Montezuma along Beaver Creek due to Tuesday’s rain and wet weather causing major flooding issues. The American Red Cross has set up a shelter at 395 S Main St. at the Camp Verde gym.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Scary moments for a pilot who had to make an emergency landing at a north Scottsdale golf course Thursday afternoon. Initial reports of an aircraft down came in around 12:30 p.m. Scottsdale fire officials tell Arizona’s Family that a glider landed on its wheels in the fairway of the Estancia Club golf course, near Dynamite Boulevard and Alma School Parkway. Aerial video from Arizona’s Family news chopper shows a plane in the middle of the course with small amounts of debris surrounding the aircraft.

Two people rescued from top of truck in Cave Creek

CAVE CREEK, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Emergency crews worked early Wednesday to rescue two people trapped in treacherous floodwaters in Cave Creek. Video from the scene appears to show two men atop their white pickup truck near Spur Cross Road, about three miles northwest of the popular Rancho Manana Golf Club. Rescue crews from Scottsdale Fire Department, Daisy Mountain Fire Rescue, and the Phoenix Fire Department all assisted in the operation where all two men were rescued using a ladder. Officials say that the men were trying to get to a job site when they got washed downstream. No injuries were reported.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - A woman was shot and killed in Phoenix’s “The Zone,” one of the nation’s largest homeless encampments, on Wednesday. In a separate case, two men were accused of beating and burning a man to death in a dumpster in the same encampment. Sources told Arizona’s Family that firefighters won’t even go into The Zone without a police escort. You might remember, back in November, that first responders found a dead baby boy on the street. “It’s heartbreaking if you want to know the truth,” said Brock Bevell, a former police officer and now a counselor with Victory Recovery. Bevell used to work in the narcotics division only to find himself in the grip of opioid addiction after getting injured on the job. Now he’s 13 years sober.

SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A boy was rushed to the hospital after he was pulled out of a bathtub at a San Tan Valley home on Thursday afternoon. Around 12:45 p.m., a mother called 911, saying she found her 4-year-old son not moving inside the tub near Hunt Highway and Mountain Vista Boulevard. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and began CPR on the boy, and firefighters took over shortly afterward. Investigators say he was blue and had a weak pulse.

According to the Mesa Fire department, crews responded to Task Aerospace located just north of the Red Mountain Loop 202 and Higley Road just after 2 a.m. When they arrived, they entered the building involved and extinguished a small fire and that’s when they also located a victim. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators are currently at the scene looking into what led up to the fire.
