Roxie Luoma (Looper) Elwood went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 20, 2022.
Roxie was born in Crescent City, California on Feb. 14, 1940, and graduated from Grants Pass High School in Oregon in 1958.
Roxie married her high school sweetheart, Duane H. Elwood, on Nov. 29, 1958, and they had three children: Jeanne, David (Kim) and Steve (Cheri) Elwood.
The family moved to Napavine in 1969 where Roxie worked in numerous places, primarily as a cook for the Napavine School District and at the jail for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Roxie is survived by her husband Duane, her three children, sisters Christine and Nita, numerous grandchildren, cousins and Aunt Mildred Dunham (101 years).
Roxie was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Helen (Inks) Looper, and nieces Dora Norenberg and Alyce Looper.
There will be a memorial service from 1 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2023, at the Napavine IOOF Hall. It’s a potluck, so bring your favorite dish and share your memories.
