THE BUZZ

Chicken, Restaurant Week and the Darboy Club

Happy Thursday and welcome back to The Buzz Newsletter!

It's been an exciting couple of weeks as I was finally able to answer some of the questions you have been asking. Mainly, what is happening at the Darboy Club site? I got confirmation from the Village of Harrison, Bayland Buildings and the businesses owners about ..... Mr Brews Taphouse moving in.

I followed up on the announcement with a more detailed story where I interviewed one of the owners of the restaurant and got more information about the project.

I also wrote about the closure of William Sonoma at the Fox River Mall, which several readers pointed out to me.

For food-related coverage, I interviewed the owners of Slim Chickens on their first Wisconsin location that opened last week in Appleton. I had a lot of fun hearing their stories as franchisees.

If you're hungry, I also wrote a guide about Restaurant Week Fox Cities, which starts tomorrow. I detail how you can participate (and win prizes), which restaurants you can visit and share how the event impacts local eateries.

Looking ahead you can expect to see my list of businesses to watch for in 2023, a round-up of the best places to get stew, soup and chili in the Fox Cities (based on your reader submissions) and a feature on an ice-cream sandwich business moving into downtown Appleton.

If you want to weigh in on the best soup, stews and chili's, today is the last day to email me your suggestions at abursiekkloehn@gannett.com
