A 15-year-old Forest Park High school student was shot and killed a few blocks away from the school, according to Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael S. Harrison at a press conference.
Police say, at around 3:04 p.m. officers were sent to the rear alley behind the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Avenue near the intersection to investigate a reported shooting.
Officers arrived and found a 15-year-old boy injured from a shooting, say authorities.
City police say the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the scene.
'If this was your cousin. your friend in school. if this was you. you'd want someone to say this is what happened and why it happened. We cannot continue to see young people have their lives snuffed out over nothing. we have to hold everybody accountable," said Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott in a press conference addressing the shooting incident.
" Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and school community. Counselors will be available tomorrow at the school," states Baltimore City Public Schools.
"It's hitting home here, it's getting bad," said Tremont Brown who lives on the alley where the killing happened.
"They have to do something about it. Too many of our young kids are getting killed out here today," said Brown.
